Thought it might be a slalom, at around 6 it was trying very hard to blow enough. But, unfortunately the wind was dropping all the time. We did a triangular course. Johnny boy got a slight lead at the start. I nearly caught him by the end of lap one, and took right of way over Mike. Then I fell in as I was pumping as hard as I could to catch John, being off balance on purpose can be tricky. The race was reduced from 4 to 3 laps. Couldn't catch John he was too good. Mike got caught by Tony, as Mike was struggling with too much weed on his fin. Mark with his new 8.5T2 said it goes well, and Sandy came in next on her 7m. John's won 3 times now - looks ominous.

Tony's Write Up
Racing 22nd July

The day was hot and sultry. The wind you ask?
What wind!

At 4 pm there were just a few whisps of breezy eddying across the lake. But by five a force three had kicked in, that even threatened to freshen to slalom conditions. But as 6.30 loomed the wind settled for a steady force two. There were very few participants, due probably to the windless conditions earlier in the day.

But the race started with 6 contestants

For some reason I never fully understand there was once again confusion on the start line

FOR GOD SAKE IT'S SIMPLE ENOUGH!!!!

But try telling Mr Boulter that, as he circled on the wrong side of the start mark. Abuse shouted at him from the irate starter got him vaguely on the right side. And off we went.

The first mark caused a certain amount of difficulty as Tim and Mike underestimated the tide that dragged them remorslesly towards Derick ( The top mark). Infact Mike appeared to be flattened against it, incapble of movement!

It all became a bit of a procession after that. With John B taking the lead, Tim just behind, Mike G next with Tony 4th, Mark F 5th and Sandra (but by no means least) in 6th.

In fact the only change of position in the whole race was when Mike G started to have an affair with a particularly friendly piece of weed that dragged him to a remorseless halt.Tony took advantage of this unexpected gift and drifted into third place.

And that's how it finished. With Mr Boulter taking 1st place for the third consecutive time.

He's coming up on the rails folks!
